Living With Diabetes.
About My Diabetes Journey
I’m a daughter, mother, sister, caregiver and past healthcare worker. I must begin by saying I am not diabetic, but I live with it everyday. I was born into a large family with 6 brothers and sisters. My mother was diagnosed with diabetes after her third child. I am number five. Her mother was diabetic, and three of her five siblings were also diabetic. All of my brothers and sisters have either been diagnosed with diabetes or hypoglycemia. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years after we were married. His mother was diagnosed about three years later. Now my 18 year old daughter suffers from PCOS and is predisposed to diabetes.
I spent ten years as a nurse caring primarily for type 2 diabetics, monitoring their blood glucose levels, administering their insulin, and educating my patients and family members on a proper diet and care. I started this blog to express my journey with diabetes so prevalent in my family and life, its effect on me and the people I love. I hope this blog entertains you and inspires you to be proactive with your diabetes and explore new ideas.
Disclaimer: This is my journey with diabetes and of those close to me. I offer some basic information about diabetes, but this blog should not be considered medical advice. Please consult your physician before adjusting diet, medication or diabetic care.
Diabetes Role in My Life

Dream it.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Build it.
